Die Fledermausmutter liegt im Sterben und beauftragt ihr Kind, ihr Begräbnis vorzubereiten. Freunde und Verwandte müssen eingeladen werden, vor allem soll aber der letzte Wunsch der Mutter erfüllt werden: während der Trauerzeremonie soll die Sonne stillstehen. Doch so etwas ist der Sonne unmöglich. Die Fledermaus wendet sich enttäuscht von ihr ab und fliegt ab jetzt nur mehr bei Nacht.
The Mother Bat is near to death. She charges her child with the preparation of her own funeral. Friends and relatives must be invited but above all the last wish of the mother needs to be fulfilled: the sun should stand still during the funeral ceremony. Unfortunately that is impossible for the sun. Deeply disappointed the bat turns away from the sun and flies from then on only by night.
